Hey there readers, let me introduce myself, my name is Sean Yakeley. I am a loving father, husband and entrepreneur. I have always love all things technical, Engineering and creative. I began to take things apart with my brother when we were both very young and we were amazed at how many small little pieces come together just right for a complex device to function (such as a clock). I took this love for tinkering to a professional level when I enrolled in college at one of the more reputable Engineering schools in the country. I quickly found that of all the classes I took, the ones that were most intriguing were the lab-based classes where I was able to apply theory to a practical application. I loved it and knew I wanted to do something creative once I graduated. Fresh out of school I found myself hoping on a plane and heading 12000 miles East to Siberia Russia to work in the oilfield. This was the farthest I had ever been from home and it wasnt exactly what I thought I would be doing with myself however, it sure was a learning experience and I loved the people. I spent the next 8 years in the oilfield in various countries around the world and at one point had recorded over 50 countries I had visited in this span (two passports later too). I then returned to the US where I would setup a home base in Houston Texas with my wife and child. I would continue to work in the oil industry over the next couple of years but primarily in product development, marketing and sales roles. I quickly found out that this was much more up my alley. Over the past couple of years I have had moments of enlightenment that basically made me ask the question “is this what I want to be doing for the rest of my life?”. I had numberous invention ideas since college but never made anything from them. I knew I wasnt alone. I decided to form Odyssey Solutions so that more people like myself would not have ideas go to waste. I not only have turned some of my ideas into products already but I have formed what I think is a much in demand consulting service.
